4 Reviews for The Foggy Goggle
I love the Foggy Goggle. It's probably my favourite restaurant on Argyle Street. It's located right next to the popular Economy Shoeshop in downtown Halifax NS. The staff at the Goggle are very friendly and the restaurant decor is very warm and has that cozy 'feel right at home' feeling.
They have a fantastic selection of beers. You can often find Guinness (one of my favs) on tap and on special. I highly recommend trying out their nachos and quesadilla's as well. Also, I'd try to stop in for lunch and check out the specials if I were you. I recently had a pulled pork sandwich and potato leek soup which was out of this world.
I fancy myself a bit of a Guinness-snob (personal qualifications only) and I'd say that FG has the best Guinness on tap in the city. Its hop-ness is spot on to what I've had in Ireland, and the barley flavour is more prominent than other places (age and temperature of the keg, and how the beer is poored make a difference).
The food is good, the service is great, and they have entertainment most nights of the week.
Try their Foggy Goggle potato's - roasted and then covered in cheese. Delicious.
The chicken quesadilla was also very good and a large portion for lunch.
A decent spot to hang out and drink...like Argyle Street needed another! :)
The Foggy Goggle is a great addition to the Argyle Street scene. It has unique menu items, like the Foggy Spuds (baby red potatoes with bacon, corn, red onion and cheddar cheese), and my personal favourite: the pulled pork sandwich, with pork that's been cooked in beer and apple cider. The restaurant is a little bit dark, but it's certainly not foggy!
