1 Reviews for Subway
Sometimes a person wants the familiar, nothing fancy, hence the popularity of fast food joints. Case in point-Subway. I dont really feel the need to wax poetic about the menu there, but I am here to let my fellow Dartmouthians know which Subway to avoid!
Eat Fresh is Subways motto. Well good luck eating fresh at the location located on Portland St in downtown Dartmouth. Saturday morning my friend and I were on the prowl for a breakfast sandwich. Run in, grab one, start munching. Opening time- 9am. After pulling at the door to get in, to no avail, I realized I was trying to open a locked door. How could this be? After all, it was 9:12 am. The lone staff member inside must have heard my frantic attempt to get in, the lights were flipped on, and a surly woman unlocked the door. No apology for opening late, in fact she made it a point not to acknowledge us.
Anyhoo-breakfast awaits. Except we are told there are no deli style buns left to make said breakfast sandwich. Normally I would say they must have ran out, but given the fact that we were the first to claw our way in that morning, this couldnt have been the case. Any flatbreads? I warily asked, as she was giving me a death stare. No, she grunted. Any bread at all? I asked, hope fading for my tasty little sandwich. She opened the trays where bread is normally stored, and pointed towards a motley assortment of 6 bread stumps, clearly left over from the previous night. It was at this point I backed slowly towards the door, just wanting to get away!
Normally I would say that this could have been a one off, but my friend, who lives close to this location, has said that she has tried to order a sub at 10 minutes prior to closing time, only to be told that they are closed-no sandwich for her!! Apparently the posted opening/closing times for this location are only a suggestion. If you want to eat fresh, or at all, might I suggest another location!
