If you're looking for comics in Halifax, look no further than Strange Adventures. They have a huge selection of comics and comic related products (models, posters, et cetera). They have a facebook page which they update regularly. They frequently have sales, some of which are accessible to fans of their Facebook page (they post a 'code' you use, and they give you a discount if you use it).
The only complaint I can make, as mentioned before, is that the store is -very- small. You will feel cramped with only a handful of people in there, however, this is made up for by the fact it's due to their sizable collection.

I'm a huge fan of this store. While I'm not really into comics, I enjoy board games, roleplaying and science fiction very much. This store offers me a little (or a lot, sometimes!) of each, and I'm often found drooling over the memorabilia (i can has phasor riffle, peez?). It's the perfect spot to shop for that special geek (or geekette!) in your life. You're sure to find something interesting for those hard-to-buy-for types.

My only complaint about this store is its size. It's small, and it can feel very cramped with only a handful of people in the store. :(

A legendary Halifax store, Strange Adventures have an absolutely huge inventory of comics and hard to find books.

My kids like the yearly promotion the store does, giving away free comics (my house is packed with these!)

They are very knowledgeable - I'm not a comic book expert - but these guys do know their stuff.
