I met a friend for lunch here who loves tea. He was very impressed with what they had to offer, and raved over how good their sandwiches are and at 3.98 each they're a steal! This is definitely going to be a regular drop in for us!

Proprietress, Mie Mie, is a jewel in the tea business. Her shop Sawadee, meaning welcome, really does make you feel welcome. Not only does Mie Mie have excellent teas, the ambiance and unique treasures throughout her shop are worth return visits.
Worth visiting on your own or with friends - a must see. Would make great anytime gifts.

Sawadee (which is Thai for "welcome") is an oasis in the heart of downtown. It's a tranquil place, with beautiful furnishings and decor, but the tea steals the show. In fact, there's an entire wall filled with canisters of loose tea - every kind you can imagine and more. The owner, Mei Mei, is an absolute tea guru. She can suggest the kind of tea you need, just by looking at you. There's a blend to soothe, heal, comfort, console or rejuvenate you -- whatever you need, Mei Mei has it. Sawadee is hands-down my favourite tea house in HRM!
