I ate lunch here today and found the food to be good.
Started with the calamari and shrimps (shared) and they were fresh and tasty.
Then had their fish and chips which was filling and well prepared.
Finished it of with Nova Scotia Apple Crisp, with vanilla ice cream.
The location on the Halifax harbour front, overlooking the water is also a very cool spot - especially when the weather is warm as they have an outdoor deck/patio.
Worth a visit.
I had the opportunity to enjoy lunch here today.
I was so impressed by the wonderful service, great food, and and amazing atmosphere that I had to share with the rest of you.
I have been here a number of times with visiting family members and the place has yet to disappoint.
This was the first time I have eaten there for lunch. It was suggested I try the lobster roll, and it couldn't have been a better choice.
The evening dining is a whole other experience. The atmosphere changes to more intimate setting with great lighting and mood.
Stop by this establishment if you have the chance. Please take my word for it, You will be pleased.
Salty's is consistently one of the best places to go. I like the casual feeling downstairs, especially in the renovated area, and I often go to their patio in the summertime. But the menu upstairs is my favourite. I love the baked brie, and the maple curry chicken pasta (I never would've imagined putting maple and curry together, but it's awesome!). And I agree with Gloria - try the blueberry grunt, or one of their specialty coffees for dessert. Best view of the harbour too.
Salty's has a casual restaurant and patio on the main floor, and an upscale dining room on the second floor. Both are great! They offer some of the same menu items, but the main floor is for lighter fare. I recommend the sweet potato fries and tuna sandwich for lunch (sounds simple, but it tastes fantastic). And I enjoy their seafood casserole or pan-seared salmon for dinner. Make sure you leave room for their famous Blueberry Grunt dessert!
