We retained this company to do a bath and kitchen renovation. They were recommended by a designer out of dartmouth Nova Scotia DN Lee. They took over one year to work on this project, disappearing for weeks at a time, using the excuse that they were very busy. Finally in exasperation we asked them to leave. By this point we had paid them around 28,000 dollars. We hired an inspector and another contractor. What they found was the toilet had leaked because of improper installation , the new ceramic tiles in the kitchen were improperly installed and were lifting, the marble backsplash was improperly installed and was crooked with large spaces left under the kitchen cupboards, the new french door was hung improperly, the kitchen window was improperly installed, and two of the kitchen cupboards had been installed by a few nails and were not attached to the studs. They eventually would have fallen and caused extensive damage to a new quartz counter top. It took another 12000 dollars to repair the problems. When confronted with this the contractor, peter purcell kept insisting that he could have fixed this if we were willing to wait until he was not as busy, and this was his reply to BBB. To make matters worse this reno was to make the house more livable for my 90 year old disabled mother. We even moved her out of the house for 2 months to allow him to work and he still created this disaster after a year and took no responsibility for it.
