The Opus Hotel - Vancouver had been one of the 1st boutique style hotels I had stayed in. This proved to be a challenge for all the others boutique hotels I've stayed in since, in that the bar had been set quite high and they have been hard pressed to compare.

I enjoyed the somewhat tucked away nature of the property. Yaletown is a great part of Vancouver that lends itself nicely to the hotel. I found the rooms to be upscale and modern with more than enough comfort included as well. The nightly turn down service was appreciated, as was the fact that even at 2 AM the staff was happy to pick up my dress shoes for polishing and have them at my door first thing in the morning.

The restaurant provided upscale dining for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were courteous and friendly, and I can actually say I keep in touch with someone who was on staff there when I stayed even to this day!

While Vancouver has no shortage of choices where hotels are concerned, I would have no problem recommending the Opus and will likely find my way back there again on a future visit.
