Opa Restaurant
From the Community
Opa is one of the best greek places in HRM. WE had mousaka, spanakopita (not sure of my spellings ;0) but they tasted really fresh and yummy. Good place to take your wife or girlfriend for special occassions.
It has healthy food.
I tend to order the same thing whenever I eat Greek food: chicken souvlaki. Opa's isn't the best I've tasted in my life, but it's consistently good. If you like cheese, I highly recommend the saganaki for a starter ("flaming cheese" that's flambeed at your table). Part of the appeal of Opa is the Mediterranean decor (complete with olive trees) and Greek music, which creates a laid-back atmosphere. Opa is a bit more expensive than other Greek restaurants (like the Spartan), because of its prime location downtown, but the ambiance makes up the difference.
I have been to this restaurant a couple times and I really liked their style of food. Never had Greek food anywhere else so wouldn't be able to comment how authentic it is, but it tasted alright to me. Try the stuffed chicken with spinach and chesse :)
This place really has nothing to offer other than the fact that it is in a prime location and is considered to be "en vouge" in the city of Halifax.
Last time I had the chicken Souvlaki there it was like eating rubber
