Onyx makes the BEST mojito's! My favorite is the Cucumber Crush. They have specialty nights all through the week: 1/2 price apps, 1/2 price drinks, music nights, no corkage fees, etc. The food is really good and they give a great presentation; the atmosphere is modern and hip.They also do a tasting menu, and you have the option to pair it with wine- This is great to do with a group of friends and you get to try everything on the menu! Spoil yourself and check it out!

Every Wednesday, Onyx features a new Jazz band. I've been there twice and enjoyed the music greatly. Add to that half-price appetizers and no corkage fee, and dimmed lights and courteous service, and you have a wonderful evening for yourself and your company.

Turns out they have BYOW with no corkage fee and half price appetizers on Wednesdays!

A gang of us decided to check it out and see what it was all about. The decor is great. Very 'modern sheek'. The waitress we had was amazing as she was extremely nice and very helpful. We pretty much ordered everything on the appetizer menu. What stood out the most was the chicken chops and duck spring rolls.

I went here for my prom dinner some years back.

The food and atmosphere here is great, but it is a bit expensive (especially for, erm, high school students) - I think our bill came to $100 or so, including drinks/dessert. We were both pleased with our meals - rack of lamb and some sort of spicy bow-tie pasta.

The staff were very nice to us. I remember there being flossers in the washroom and the waiter re-folding my napkin while I was gone.

Quite possibly the best place to get Martinis in Halifax however be prepared to pay a considerable amount for the experience.

The decor is very nice with a modern look to it. There is a rather large round table in the back which you can reserve for a more private affair.

The food is exceptional. I highly recommend the rack of lamb which I believe is one of their specialties.
