The dining room at O'Carroll's is lush and elegant, but you still feel comfortable and casual. We had steak and lobster for supper, both of which were superb, and the atmosphere and service were really wonderful. There was a band in the pub that night, so we were able to squeeze in for a few tunes, but I'd definitely like to go back just to sit on the pub side. My only complaint is that our cozy window seat had an unfortunate view of the massive dumpsters outside Historic Properties!

The irish breakfest here is unbelievble (at least compared to other restaurants in Halifax). Everything tasted like it was infused with flavour!

More than once I've seen the waiting staff just casually chat with the patrons while working, but they've never been slow. I think this is great and I always feel welcomed here. And if your picky about how your Guinness is poured, you won't be disappointed here.
