I went to Nectar recently with 4 friends for a girl's night out. And I truly wanted to love it. I had been there quite a while ago and was not impressed with the food or sevice, for the price paid. I heard it had been sold and I wanted to try it again.

I went there with an open mind because like I said I truly wanted to love it. It is very close to where I live and having a good upscale restaurant in the neighbourhood would be a welcome addition.

It is all relative to the price paid. I had one glass of wine and an entree. No appetizer or dessert. My bill was $56.00 (tax incl. but before tip). I am fine with that price if the food and service is exceptional, but it was not.

I had the scallop dish. It was mixed with vegetables and a beet puree. I thought it would be delicious, but it was quite bland and the vegetables were barely cooked. We were there over 2 1/2 hours and by the end the evening was really dragging on. The best part about the night was the friendliness of our waitress. I can't fault her for anything except maybe being a little slow when we were obviously finished and wanted to pay our bill and leave.

On a positive note, a few of my friends had the caeser salad. It looked delicious and they said that the loved it. They also liked the fritters (aka homemade dougnuts) that they had for dessert.

It is unlikely that I will go back again because there are so many better restaurants in HRM within the same price point.

Nectar is under new management and also has a new chef since I was last there. The management is friendly and made a point to visit everyone at their table and make them feel quite at home. The Chef is excellent, the food was fantastic, and with such a lovely atmosphere, the restaurant is once again, the place to dine in Dartmouth.

Spent a wonderful evening with my love and my sister. Food was delicious, waiter was excellent and the atmosphere is divine. Guess I like it, wouldn't you say!

This is a very pleasant dining atmosphere.The Food, the place, and the service are top quality.
It is great for day or evening dining.

I ate at Nectar two weeks ago. They were very accomodating with my dietary restrictions. The menu was the same as when I was there in November. The atmosphere was great and our first waiter was very attentive. Our second and permanent waiter was not great and actually disappeared for a good 45 minutes between our salad and main course. The kitchen seemed slow that evening.
