I had the privilege of visiting the National Gallery a few summers ago during a Renoir exhibition. The architecture and beauty of the building itself are very impressive, but the collections inside are possibly even more stunning. The Canadian collection in particular was inspiring. I have always liked the work of The Group of Seven, but to see some of their early paintings in person was truly remarkable. I left the Gallery feeling very proud of our Canadian heritage, as well as of this wonderful building.
