So hot in the office today that many of us went down to the Hamachi Steakhouse to sit on the patio for lunch. It took approx. 50 minutes for the food to arrive (if it wasn't so hot in our office...33 degrees) I would have been upset. However, the food was delicious and they are now serving sushi. We asked for sushi rolls that were not on the lunch menu and they accommodating all of our requests.
Still one of my favorite places to eat...next time I will tell them we only have an hour.
We did a group Tapenyakki dinner for our staff Christmas dinner. The food was tasty and the chefs cooking the food right in front of us were highly entertaining. The restaurant itself has a beautiful view of the waterfront and overall, everyone enjoyed themselves!
Tapenyakki is awesome. Best place for Tapenyakki in halifax. Well maybe the only place. :P
Nothing like having a personal chef cook right in front of you. That's what's so great about this place. It just amplifies the overall experience of this fantastic little Steakhouse.
The meal I had was great but my favourite part was the chicken fried rice. If you go, make sure you pay the extra $2.95 for this. You won't be disappointed.
I've never been to anything like this and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chefs/cooks are very pleasant and entertaining and the food tastes great. You need to try the tappenyaki!
This restaurant didn't live up to my expectations. Maybe my expectations were too high after all the good things I've heard of it, but I wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad place, but not great either. The food was just OK, the service just OK, but the atmosphere was pretty good, I'll give them that. And with the price tag, I'd rather be elsewhere.
This is a gem in Halifax a ton of Fun to watch your food get prepared and most chefs do pretty cool tricks.
It definitley on par with Benny Hana's for anyone who is familiar them.
If you want to try something different this is one you have to get to.
WOW! We had a fantastic experience at the teppanyaki table. Great tasting food, a fun & relaxed atmosphere, and lots of entertainment provided by our skillful chef. The teppanyaki tables seat 10 people in a U-shape. Although we didn't talk very much to the other guests at our table, we all shared a few laughs and certainly didn't feel uncomfortable. It was a busy Saturday night, but the service was outstanding. Definitely go for the teppanyaki, pick your main dish and opt for the Japanese rice, and try some green tea ice cream for dessert!
My kids love the the tapenayaki tables. I'm not a big fan of their menu as it is always the same and the food seems very "Canadian".
The food is exceptional and the drink menu is fantastic. I would highly recommend the French Martini (best in the city), or the Expresso Martini (for those of us who have kids and have trouble staying out late). While you and your friends or family dine the Teppanyaki
offers great ntertainment.
