I love all Hamachi restaurants as their food is pretty standard across the board (IE: it's really good at all restaurants), but this one in particular has a really cool interior. Aqua walls with "under the sea" murals and glass fish ornaments surround the restaurant. If you get a chance to sit out on the patio in the summer, it's also part of the Hydrostone market, so it's in a nice, quiet part of the city.
Loved the small environment. The service was excellent as well. By far my favorite sushi spot in Halifax!
Hamachi Kita recently moved to an adjacent location with a bigger space. The new place is so busy they end up using all the fish every day resulting in always fresh fish.
I had the "Sushi Love" combo and it was absolutely amazing. Although the rice was a tiny bit harder than ideal, the freshness and softness of the fish in the nigiri, sashimi, and maki overtook my senses. By far the best sushi I had in a while.
I was super impressed with chef and the server who, individually, brought small cups of fruits for my 1.5 year old son, containing strawberries and a cherry. My son was happy and it is a much friendlier environment for children than many other restaurants in Halifax.
This restaurant is a bit far from the city centre, but that comes with the benefit of plenty of free parking.
This place made my day.
I have never been disappointed by the Hamachi group of restaurants and this is no different.
The servings are above-average size and the price is completely reasonable. I was happy to pay for what I got. And the non-sushi dishes are great too. The servers are second to none. Great spot!
Amazing big sushi, the fish could almost wrap all around the rice. Fresh, clean, tasty - all I'd want in a good sushi meal.
Only 4 stars because the server was new and didn't really know what she was doing and kept messing up our order.
This was shortly after they opened though, I wonder if the quality is still that good.
This is my favorite sushi spot in Halifax, although the Hamachi House on Morris is equal in terms of food. I like the service here better and it's a more intimate spot.
