As an alumna of Halifax Dance - having danced there from age 3 until my early twenties, and having completed their Intensive Training Program - I'm totally biased in my review of "HD."

The teachers and accompanists are some of the best in the city. Dedicated, professional, vibrant and creative, the teachers have shared with countless children and adults the gift of dance and an enthusiasm for the arts.

My only complaint is the current location; Halifax Dance has moved around quite a bit over the past 30 years, and is presently in the least attractive space (there are NO windows). In this time they could have purchased a beautiful downtown space, instead of throwing away money on rent. It would be fabulous to see HD purchase its own building after all this time!

That aside, there was no question in my mind, when it was time to send my children to dance classes, they would absolutely go to Halifax Dance. It is a pleasure to see my children develop a love of dance and music with the same professionals I grew up learning from and/or dancing with!

I took flamenco classes for adult beginners, and had a great time! Our instructor, Maria, was wonderful - she clearly and patiently explained all the movements, was very helpful and encouraging, and of course, very talented. We got great value for the price we paid, and are considering taking more classes in the future. As someone who has never danced before, this was a great overall first experience.

My little boy has enjoyed his ballet lessons at Halifax Dance for a couple of years now.

The instructors are fully committed and are great with the kids.

I've found Halifax Dance to be an inspiring environment for my children to learn dance.

The ballet teachers especially have a wonderful method of teaching and nurturing the little ones at their school.

My children have been going to Halifax Dance for several years and enjoy their classes immensely.
