I've dealt with Gordon Stirrett and associates for 9 years now and have been very pleased. We were also thrilled this year to learn that gordon raised over $50,000 for the salvation army during the holidays. It was nice to see someone that we deal with give back to the commuinity in such a meaningful way. I can honestly say our relationship with gordon and his group has been nothing but positive.

Extremely dissatisfied with the results ! We consolidated our RRSPs in 2001 and after researching several options selected Gordon. Here we are in 2010, the portfolio has lost 25% from 2001, and the advice from Gordon? every year the same -hold, hold, hold ! We had mistakenly believed that the annual fees he continued to pull would buy us some market intelligence. Not so- there is none that you won't hear on the evening news! Even less ! He has a great pitch, nice smile, impressive billboards but produces awful results. My recommendation - stay away from Gordon !

I met with an advisor there last year and I found it to be very relaxing. He didn't try to pressure me into anything. I didn't become a client but I would recommend anyone to see them.
The advisor gave me recommendations on insurance, my mortgage as well as my investments. Told me what to expect from my pension, etc..
I left there well informed of my future. I will definately go back and become a client closer to retirement.

My experience with Gordon Stirrett & Associates has been nothing but wonderful. In 2007 when the markets were doing well Gordon suggested I move to something with a guarantee. We are so thankful we did as it protected us from the 2008-2009 declines. The service is terrific and I am always made to feel at home when I visit their office :) I would recommend them to anyone.

Gordon's investment advice is the worst I have received. It has cost me 10's of thousands of dollars over the past few years. Be wary of Universal Life Insurance as an investment as well as GIF leveraged investments. I am surprised he wants to put his face on TV and billboards.

Gordon must be a very wealthy man - his adds are everywhere in HRM these days. We went for a consultation and he was pushing the Manulife Income Plus product hard. This is basically investment insurance - you get some security on your portfolio for a fee. The fees are in the 3.5-4% range, so the mutual funds you invest in need to perform very well, a rarity in today's markets. You're much better off to invest in some EFTs (funds that track various market indexes like the TSX or Dow Jones), with expenses in the 0.5-0.9% range. It's your money, so do some reasearch before you plunk it down in something like Income Plus.
