Fujiyama is a frequent lunch stop of mine- you can't beat their lunch special!!! I get the two maki rolls (usually Spicy Dynamite and Spicy Avocado) and a House Salad for only $8.99!!! They give great serving sizes, too. Also, check out their Seaweed Salad and Age Tofu- So good!

I checked out Fujiyama and tried their lunch sushi special; 3 rolls (each had six pieces) for $11.99 - which included miso soup.

The choice wasn't limited to the cheaper sushi, so i ended up with Spicey Salmon, Dynamite roll and Spicey Tuna (18 pieces in total) for $11.99.

The sushi was fresh and tasty - it also came with soup.

This spot is a growing favorite because of the reasonably priced lunch combos available. Sushi, Miso Soup, Tempura, and Salad all for about $10.00. A great deal I think. Great location as well.

Fujiyama has really struck the right balance between price and quality of sushi. Without question they have the best lunch specials in Halifax (18 pieces for 12 bucks). Their sushi is delicious and prepared fresh when you order. The servers have been nothing but nice and accommodating with patrons from what I've experienced.

That's not to say Fujiyama isn't without its flaws. Certain visits around lunch time have yielded exceedingly long wait times. Although rare, myself and others have experienced 40+ minute waits between ordering and the sushi arriving.

This shouldn't discourage the adventurous from trying this sushi restaurant especially given it's close quarters cave like interior which is quite striking and unique.

If there's one thing that I could suggest, it would be for Fujiyama to invest in a website again as theirs has been down for sometime now.

Aptly named after the Volcano in Japan, the taste of Fujiyama explodes in your mouth as soon as you put one of those irresistible little rice cubes in your mouth.
The cave like entrance and the little confined place has the hallmark of japanese optimization of real estate! it can get claustrophobic till you gulp down one of those little beauties. The Lunch hour special on weekdays is worth every penny and the faster you make this little place your sushi destination of the town, the faster you will have real sushi.
Sayonara!! :D

Best sushi around here i think. I needed the lav quick time though after eating here. They also have this 'gay room' not sure what its supposed to be for.

I'm not often impressed by restaurant decor, but I love the decor/layout here.

I haven't tried anything but their roll lunch specials, but that alone deserves 5 stars. I love maki, and they give you a choice from 12 (or more?) rolls, so you could have a different lunch every day. Good prices too!

The only bad thing about the roll specials is that if you have a group of people who all get different rolls, it might take a while to make. But, worth it!

The $12 for 18 pieces of sushi is the best deal in town -- especially as it's good sushi.

Probably not for the claustrophobic (the restaurant is a series of small "caves" with narrow hallways) it does create a fantastic dining experience. A rare place that can double as good for a business lunch or a romantic evening.

Probably my favorite sushi restaurant in town ... worth checking out.

What a great location. If you're looking for a unique place to have some sushi this is it.

The sushi is good but what really stood out for me was the tempura! yum.

$11.99 for 18 delicious pieces of sushi... need I say more?! Well yes I do. Our waitress was very friendly, but the service was a bit slow. If they're going to offer such good deals, they need to be prepared to handle the volume of orders. However, everything I ordered was fresh and fantastic: cucumber, avocado and sweet potato maki. The sweet potato, with a touch of tempura, was simply outstanding!
