Frog Hollows is an independent bookstore and it's pretty small.
I went during their sale, and got two great books for about $10 total. In one of the books, the story takes place in Halifax, NS and a lady that worked there told me she heard it was a good book. After reading it, I contacted the author from that book and she wrote me back and sent me some stuff she was working on, cool huh?

I love the name, I like the layout and selection of books, but I don't like the atmosphere in the store. Maybe I'm still hung up on the coziness of the old location, but this one has never quite grabbed me the same way. However, the service is still excellent, and it's still one of my favourite bookstores in the city.

Mary Jo (former owner) was instrumental in making the store what it was, and for bringing so many world-renowned authors to Halifax - it would be a shame for that to end. There was a report in the Globe & Mail about the struggles that Heidi has been facing as the new owner (in light of the economy and competition etc.), but I truly hope the store will survive and thrive!
