Great upscale pub atmosphere with Irish fare on the menu (Not greasy pub food!) and a tasty selection of beer and cider on tap. The new owners (since 2004) have really put their hearts into the place and it shows! Highly recommended.

I've just gotten back from small-town Ireland and can say that there are very few places in HRM that look authentically Irish and taste authentically Irish. Finbar's Pub is one such place. The food is super-tasty and the service is friendly. They are usually playing gentle Celtic music and the place looks the part.

Finbar’s has improved a lot over the years in terms of food, service, decor and atmosphere. The current owners have worked very hard to make this a community pub, and it shows! Years ago, it was a place I'd go to as a last resort, but now it's a specific destination. Apparently they’re in the process of updating their menu, but generally they offer traditional pub and Irish food. They make great burgers and fish & chips, and I really hope they don’t take “Puck the Billy Goat’s Greens” off the menu (which is just a spinach salad, but somehow it tastes better with a fun name!). Finbar’s is a great alternative to other restaurants on the Bedford Strip because it has a casual, relaxed atmosphere. If you're not familiar with the area, it's in the Sunnyside Mall (the one with Pete's Frootique at the end).
