The other day- I was suddenly struck by an intense craving- one that happens sporadically, but will not die until satiated. What was this intense longing for? Something warm, served up quick, and so satisfying- a pita club sub from Darrell's- accompanied by the ever popular Darrell fries!

Season after season, Darrell's has been serving up great food in a casual 'diner' style atmosphere by friendly staff. Renowned in the city for their ever popular peanut butter burger- I still feel like the pita club is the original signature offering. Real turkey, lettuce, tomato, and of course- delicious bacon- are rolled up in in a wrap, and served warm. The Darrell fries are spicy potato wedges, and are the perfect pairing for this tasty sandwich.

I have always found the servers to be friendly, efficient, and the food is served in a timely manner. In the summer season, they also have a great patio for outdoor dining, a great spot to indulge in one of their fab milkshakes. Also licensed, you can grab a beer with your meal,for the full package! They also do take out- so the next time the pita craving hits- its easy to dash in to get one lickity split. I highly recommend it!

I waited two years to finally walk into Darrell's and check it out- Now I can't get enough of it! The food here is fresh, unique for diner style food, delicious and cheap. So far I've tried their Turkey Cran (A freshly buttered croissant smothered with a cream cheese and crushed pecan spread, fresh oven roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, lettuce and mayo) and the veggie version of their famous Peanut Butter Burger- both with Darrell fries on the side and both meals were delicious. I went with my family both times, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Always packed, so there's a bit of a wait time to get seated, but it's worth the wait!

Everything I've ever had at Darrells has been superb, but their peanut butter burger is tremendous. Their corn chowder is pretty good too.

Echoing what others have said, Darrell`s makes some truly delicious sandwiches and fries on a budget.

However, their regular burgers are surprisingly underwhelming due to their blandness. It`s rather odd considering how good the rest of the menu is.

Darrell's is a Halifax classic and definite neighbourhood staple whether your a professional or a student its a great dinner environment that has some of the best wraps in Halifax. Not to mention their wraps will stick to your mouth.

My only complaint is that their Ceaser is hit and miss sometimes its great other its dry and tasteless.

That being said its worth a try and if you like fries their Darrell fries (wedges) are a hit.

Darrell's (formerly known as My Other Brother Darrell's) is the best place for sandwiches and wraps. Their turkey-cranberry croissant is simply mouth-watering. And who can pass up the legendary "Darrell fries" - perfect every time! The place is small, but don't forget there's the option of the sports bar downstairs, and in good weather, the patio is a nice touch.
