2 Reviews for Black Market Boutique
The black market is a vibrant, quirky and tribal boutique, whose walls (and ceiling) are plastered with exotic, affordable jewelry, trinkets, carvings, clothing in richly-colored ethnic prints, and sundry decorative items.
The intense aroma of incense can be smelled from outside, the shop's bright outdoor murals are as ornate and intricate as the store's interior, and in warm weather, the wares of this store usually spill out on to the streets, a welcome burst of color and sound on an otherwise gray cityscape.
This isn't the spot to go if you're in search of super high end or high quality interpretations of "ethnic" stuff - it's more of a fair trade, ethno-granola feel, and the quality is decent for what you pay.
The Black Market has a great vibe and is treasure trove of jewelry, masks, clothes, blankets, trinkets, incense … and so much more I can’t think of everything! It’s a small space, which means it can get crowded, but there’s always lots of pretty, interesting and fun stuff to look at. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen guys in there, although there are things the fellas might like, but it’s definitely a great girly hangout! Fortunately I get to walk past their bright and beautiful murals on my way to work every day, which always make me smile.
