Great atmosphere in here. Drinks are a bit pricey, but your surroundings will not disappoint you! If you're looking for a cool crowd of people, Monday night is definitely the night to check it out.

This is just not my type of place, but that's not why I'm giving it a low rating. Myself and 5 friends were here last night for a few birthday celebration drinks and we were among the first people in the door. We waited over 15 minutes before the waitress brought any menus and then she ran off without asking us if were wanted to order drinks or anything. Another 15 minutes went by with no sign of her and people where only then starting to pile in. We went to the bar and asked if she could come by but she said she was serving the people who just came in the door! After some debating, she finally came over. We couldn't even wait for her to come by the second time, we just went to the bar and ordered.

The food is expensive for the quality you get. The service is slow and I found them rude. The management need to really look at this and address it.

I like the Bitter End....'consistent' isn't exactly sexy...but I want to know that I have a good straight-up, vodka martini with olives, close on hand.

The Bitter End always delivers. Decent crowd too. Check it out.

Monday is martini night in downtown Halifax, so my girlfriend, a coworker, and I went to the bitter end.

The place is small and we had to stand for a few hours before we could (finally) sit down, and when we did, the table was in the middle of the walking path so all the drunks kept walking into our table.

I'm very upset with the staff. My girlfriend ordered a caramel apple martini as her first drink and she liked it a lot. We decided to each have a caramel apple martini as our second drink. For whatever reason, the bartender made us the wrong drinks. The drink tasted nothing like caramel apple and in fact was horrible, but we drank it regardless and minded our own business.

A while later my coworker offered us a drink, and my girlfriend and I decided to share a caramel apple martini. Coworker comes back with the same drink we had before, which was not a caramel apple martini.
It couldn't have been that the bartender misheard both of us, especially my coworker since he articulates very well and doesn't speak at a low volume.
My girlfriend called over a waiter and told him what the problem was, and he smelled the drink and said it smells like a "pink pussy" martini. Now I have no idea how "pink pussy" sounds similar to "apple caramel".
The bartender told us we would have to deal with it at the bar because we ordered it at the bar. Okay...
I go to the bar and inform the bartender. He asks me if I'm "kidding" and if I'm "serious". I imagine a bartender thinks of all his customers as drunk, this is the only explanation I can think of.
He then tells me he doesn't know what to say, and then tells me they finished the butterscotch and didn't have the right ingredients, and that was the closest they could have gotten it to a caramel apple martini (which somehow seems like a lie because it wasn't even remotely close; color nor taste).
I go on to tell him that if you don't have the right ingredients, you must tell that to your customers instead of serving them a random drink. He doesn't know what to do and tells me to enjoy the drink.

This problem resulted in an overall bad experience. The fact that it happened with 3 drinks is bad enough, and on top of that, we didn't even get a replacement drink.

The only good thing about this place was the music. I have to give the DJ some kudos because he did play some good music. If it weren't for him, that place would have been terrible. Thanks to him this review doesn't get 1 star.
